Why is the Fair Value Different Across the Platform?

You may notice that the Fair Value shown in your Watchlist or Portfolio doesn’t always match the one in the Valuation section of a company’s analysis page. This is expected, and here’s why:

On the company analysis page, the Fair Value shown is Simply Wall St’s own estimate. For more information on this, please visit: Understanding the Valuation section in the company report

In contrast, your Watchlist and Portfolios display the Fair Value you’ve assigned to that stock. If you haven’t set one, the system defaults to showing the most popular Community Fair Value instead.

You may see different numbers depending on whether you’re looking at your personal Watchlists and Portfolios or the broader company analysis page. The purpose is to provide you with insights from different perspectives—our internal analysts, external analysts, the Community, and your own estimates.

What to Do:

Go to your Watchlist or Portfolio and check the fair value assigned. If you’d like to set your own, follow this guide: Assigning a Fair Value in your Portfolio
