Understanding Broker Linking and FAQs

Linking a broker allows a seamless updating between your broker account and your Simply Wall St account. This integration simplifies tracking your portfolio performance without the need for frequent manual input, making it easier for users to stay on top of their investments. Through broker linking, portfolio information is securely synced daily, ensuring that your portfolio is always up to date.

Note: Portfolio linking is available exclusively on the Premium and Unlimited plans.

At Simply Wall St, your financial security is our utmost priority.

We want to emphasise that we do not store your broker login information on our platform.

Simply Wall St does not execute buy, sell, or withdrawal transactions. We prioritise security by partnering with trusted third-party services that follow best industry-standard encryption practices.

We work with Plaid and SnapTrade to facilitate portfolio linking. With SnapTrade we’re able to provide you with connectivity using the official APIs of major brokerages. Follow the links below for more information on connectivity via the APIs of those brokers:

Fidelity API
Webull API
Robinhood API
Etrade API
Public API
Chase API
Wells Fargo API

Even in the rare event of a platform breach, your brokerage accounts remain safe. Our system uses anonymous authorization tokens, preventing access to login credentials. We are committed to safeguarding your financial information, and our support team is always available for any questions or concerns.

You can link multiple brokers or portfolios to your account to have a consolidated view of your investments across different brokers. However, only one broker login account per broker can be linked at a time.

We update portfolio information at least once daily to ensure your data reflects the latest market activity and account transactions. Please allow a few hours for this process to capture and sync any new data from your brokerage account.

Editing portfolios is only available for manually created portfolios. Linked portfolios, on the other hand, are automatically synced with your brokerage account and cannot be manually modified. This ensures that all data in linked portfolios remain accurate and up to date based on your broker’s data.

More information about this can be found in the succeeding section here.
